Die Entwicklung steht bei Audi nicht still. Das Allradauto des Jahres 2019 stellt sich im Fahrbericht im Modelljahr 2022 als Facelift modernisiert und mit Neuheiten bestückt.
Der Audi Q5 misst sich im Segment der Mittelklasse-SUV mit einer Reihe von Mitbewerbern und hebt sich im Testbericht durch seinen Premiumanspruch ab. Im Vergleich sichert sich der Audi Q5 wiederholt den Titel meistverkauftes SUV in Europa.
Mit dem Q5 Sportback legt Audi das dritte Crossover Modell nach. Folgt die Baureihe Q5 den Modellen Audi Q3 Sportback und dem e-tron Sportback. Die Silhouette der Karosserie vereint den SUV-Charakter mit der Dynamik eines Coupés. Die Kreuzung der Fahrzeuggattungen erfreut sich großer Beliebtheit und gewährleistet die Alltagstauglichkeit.
Die Designfrage
Der Audi Q5 Sportback geht ab der B-Säule seine eigenen Wege und nimmt den Schwung der abfallenden Dachlinie mit bis ins Heck. Das Glashaus spannt sich im Vergleich zum Q5 flach über der Kabine und senkt sich früh ab. Das daraus resultierende spitz zulaufende dritte Seitenfenster am Auto und die stark geneigte Heckscheibe münden in einem ausdrucksstarken Abschluss.
Das Design am Heck des Audi Q5 Sportback prägt ein nach oben gezogener Stoßfänger, die Spoilerlippe und die Rückleuchten. Ein charakterisierendes Designelement der neuen Audi Q5 und Q5 Sportback Modelle.
Die Optimierungen am Design wirken beim Facelift auf den ersten Blick zurückhaltend. Bei genauer Betrachtung sticht mit der OLED-Technologie eine Weltpremiere hervor. Prägen die Audi Q5 Baureihe am Heck seit 2020 digitale OLED-Leuchten.
Die neue Lichttechnologie verpackt der Hersteller in drei Kacheln mit jeweils sechs Segmenten. Das Design der Variante advanced steht für verchromte und silberne Elemente und ersetzt die schwarze Ausführung der Basis. Die S line beinhaltet einen Kühlergrill in Wabenstruktur und den Diffusor am Heck ziert eine umlaufende Chromspange.
Neue Farben, Kontrastlackierungen und Optikpakete lassen Deiner Individualität freien Lauf.
Die Topmodelle SQ5 und SQ5 Sportback
Die SUV Audi SQ5 und SQ5 Sportback zeichnet Audi mit S-spezifischen Designelementen aus. Zu finden an dem achteckigen Singleframe-Kühlergrill, den vertikalen Spangen und den seitlichen Lufteinlässen.
Die matten Aluminiumeinsätze am Heck und der Diffusor sowie die vier verchromten Endrohre sorgen für den kraftvollen Abschluss. Entscheidest Du Dich beim Auto für das Optikpaket, erhältst Du die damit verbundenen schwarzen Sportakzente.
Abmessungen und Innenraum
Der Q5 Sportback misst mit einer Außenlänge von 4,69 Meter sieben Millimeter mehr als der Audi Q5. In Höhe und Breite verzeichne ich keine Unterschiede, 1,66 Meter hoch und 1,89 Meter breit, erzielt das SUV einen cw-Wert von niedrigen 0,30.
Der Radstand von 2,82 Meter lässt gute Platzverhältnisse erahnen, die sich im Test bei einer Sitzprobe bestätigen.
Vergleichen wir beide Modelle im Test, stelle ich fest: Die verschiebbare Rücksitzbank inklusive neigungsverstellbaren Rücksitzlehnen steigern gegen Aufpreis die Variabilität. Das Stauvolumen weicht beim Audi Q5 in diesem Fall mit 580 bis 1.580 Liter von den 520 bis 1520 Liter bei normaler Rücksitzbank ab.
Der Kofferraum des Audi Q5 Sportback fasst 510 Liter und bietet mit der Rücksitzbank plus 60 Liter mehr. Somit büßt die Crossover-Ausführung im Vergleich zum klassischen SUV zehn Liter Gepäckraum ein.
Mit umgelegten Rücksitzlehnen erreiche ich im Test ohne aufpreispflichtige längs verschiebbare Fondsitze mit verstellbaren Lehnen 1.480 Liter. Die Differenz zum Audi Q5 beträgt geringe 40 Liter.
Den komfortablen Zugang gewährt mir in den Tests bei beiden Modellen die elektrische Kofferraumklappe. Optional um die Öffnungsfunktion per Fußwisch erhältlich. Unter den Extras finden sich für den Audi Q5 und Q5 Sportback ein Ablage- und Gepäckraumpaket.
Mit dem Upgrade hält das freistehende MMI touch-Display mit akustischer Rückmeldung Einzug. Von dem Dreh-/Drück-Steller auf der Mittelkonsole verabschiedet sich Audi im neuen Modelljahr. Die freie Fläche nutzt der Hersteller für eine weitere Ablage.
Das Ambiente im Innenraum unterscheidet sich zwischen den Ausstattungen Basis, design selection und S line. Die einzelnen Levels lassen sich beim Auto beliebig mit den Exterieurpaketen kombinieren.

Kontrastnähte, Dekoreinlagen ist gebürstetes Aluminium oder in Carbon und Klavierlack kennzeichnen den Audi Q5 S line.
Bedienung und Infotainment
Mit Audi connect setzt der Autobauer beim Facelift auf ein neues Bedienkonzept im Innenraum, basierend auf dem Modularen Infotainmentbaukasten der dritten Generation.
Verbaut Audi im Basismodell eine konventionelle Instrumenteneinheit mit mittig angeordnetem Display, finde ich in den anderen Modellen im Fahrbericht das Audi virtual cockpit plus vor. Mit einer Diagonale von 12,3 Zoll, drei Layouts und einer gestochen scharfen Ausführung steuere ich im Testbericht die Anzeigen über das Multifunktionslenkrad an. Der Umfang lässt sich um das aufpreispflichtige Head-up-Display erweitern.
Das MMI touch-Display in der Mittelkonsole misst 10,1 Zoll und bietet eine leichte Bedienung. Neben der Nutzung per Finger wähle ich in den Tests alternativ die Sprachsteuerung.
Bei Nutzung des Infotainmentsystems MMI Navigation plus inklusive Audi connect Navigation & Infotainment ist der Umfang an Möglichkeiten vielfältig. Über Audi Connect online und vernetzt greife ich im Test bei der Navigation auf Satellitenbilder von Google Earth zu.
Mit der myAudi App verbindest Du Dein Smartphone mit dem Fahrzeug. Nutzer von Amazon Alexa können im Innenraum auf ihre Alexa Skills zugreifen. In der überarbeiteten Q5 Baureihe findet sich das Digitalradio DAB+ serienmäßig.

Dessen Abstimmung ich im Test über das Fahrdynamiksystem Audi drive select variiere. Die Spreizung reicht von effizient über komfortabel bis hin zu sportlich und umfasst einen Offroad-Modus. Insgesamt stehen sieben Programme inklusive allroad mit Luftfederung zur Wahl. Ergänzt um den serienmäßigen Bergabfahrassistent, der mich auf der asphaltierten Straße sowie in Geländepassagen unterstützt.
Ersetzt wird die Standard-Version im Testbericht durch das Sportfahrwerk. Die verfügbare Luftfederung adaptive air suspension variiert im Fahrbericht neben der Dämpferregelung die Höhe der Karosserie in fünf Stufen.
Die Dynamiklenkung lässt sich mit allen Ausführungen kombinieren und steigert das Handling sowie die Präzision im Alltag. Die Angebote passen die Übersetzung abhängig von gefahrenem Tempo und Lenkwinkel um bis zu 100 Prozent an.
Die Felgen-Angebote sind umfangreich, 17 Zoll Leichtmetallräder zeichnen die Basis aus, die S line und advanced Ausstattung erhalten eine 18 Zoll Bereifung. Im Zubehör finden sich Räder mit bis zu 21 Zoll Durchmesser.
Das Portfolio an Motoren

Gegenüber dem Vorgänger spart Audi um die 0,3 Liter Kraftstoff auf 100 Kilometer ein. Die technischen Daten beziffert der Audi Q5 40 TDI mit 5,4 Liter im kombinierten Zyklus. Die Messwerte für den CO2- Ausstoß belaufen sich beim Motor auf 143 – 139 Gramm pro Kilometer. Mit dem Audi Q5 50 TDI findest Du im Konfigurator die Leistungsvariante 286 PS und auf auf Seiten der Benziner umfassen die Angebote die TFSI Motoren, die Benziner 45 TFSI verfügen über 2.0 Liter Hubraum, vier Zylinder und 265 PS.
Die Rolle der Topmodelle nehmen im Testbericht der Audi SQ5 und Audi SQ5 Sportback TDI ein. Der Diesel Motor mit drei Litern Hubraum, 251 kW /341 PS und einem Drehmoment von 700 Newtonmeter befeuern das SUV in 5,1 Sekunden aus dem Stand heraus bis auf Tempo 100. Am Beispiel des Topmodells unter den EU-Neuwagen, dem Audi Q5 S line 50 TDI quattro tiptronic veranschlagt das Bestellfahrzeug 49.830 Euro. Die Finanzierung veranschlagt eine Rate von 717 Euro im Monat.
